The assembled kit creates a moist and humid environment for the seeds to thrive, while the coir cells retain moisture for the soil as it needs it. The tight footprint is helpful when starting seeds indoors during the spring. The 1.75’’ coconut coir cells are a natural, peat-free and organic material. Made from coconut coir husk, a hyper renewable resource, they are a sustainable alternative to other growing cells like plastic, peat and paper. Coconut coir strips also have performance benefits like resistance to mold when compared to peat and/or paper pots. The cells are rich in nutrients like iron, copper, zinc and magnesium and are also pH neutral, odorless, lightweight and safe to grow food in.
